The Swedish 'death clean' concept sounds awful doesn't it? But having read that book it seems to be more about 'getting your affairs in order' which I personally think is really worth doing as we get older - from mid-50s onwards. Not for fear of dying, but more because that's the time of life when things often change a lot. As a family we've now sorted through a lot of things which no longer serve us, and most of the children's stuff has gone now that they have all grown up & moved out.
This process feels very satisfying - that our home still reflects our life as it is now (with some memories brought along for the ride!)
